Stump Grinding

it's a tripping hazard (worse as it rots and the ground sinks), rotting stumps host honey fungus, which spreads to living plants, many species (willow, poplar, sycamore, cherry) sucker from a left stump for years, you can't mow over it, and you can't replant in the same spot until the old root mass is gone. 

A self-propelled grinder works the stump down in horizontal passes, turning it into wood-chip. Most domestic stumps take half to a whole a day. The chip can stay on site as backfill or be cleared if you're laying lawn or paving.

Grinders range from narrow units (60cm, through a standard gate) to larger tracked machines for big stumps in open ground, the site visit identifies what'll fit. Underground services are located before grinding, and boards are set up to catch flying debris so nothing reaches windows, glass or render.
